Chapter Two

After a minute, there was a knock at the door to their room. Julian went to the door and opened it. Outside was their Dad.
"Oh hi Dad" said Julian.
"Are you okay you two?" he asked.
"Y-yes" Ana said, still scared.
"You sure?"
"Yes yes" said Julian. "Everything's fine."
"Okay" their father said. "Oh by the way, I made scrambled eggs and bacon. Want some?"
"Not now. Later." said Ana, trying to sound normal.
"And clean those greasy fingers" said Julian as their Dad went out.
Julian closed the door.
"I can't believe what we saw at the museum today. Should we tell Mother?" said Ana.
"No. We will only tell our best friends. That is, one of them." Julian replied.
"Who should we tell?" Ana asked.
"I will pick Fred. Who will you pick?"
"I will pick Ella, my best friend. She is good at keeping secrets."
"Good, we will tell them at free time at school tomorrow. Okay?"
"Okay" said Ana.
The next day, Julian and Ana woke up at 5:30 in the morning. They were so exited about telling their friends about what they saw. They got dressed, had breakfast, brushed their teeth, brushed and combed their hair and did all that in 30 minutes.
When their Mother and Father got up, they were proud of them.
"I think we have two very good children, Marie." said Mr. James.
"Yes we do, Bob, yes we do!" said Mrs. James.
"Can we go to the bus stop now Mother?" said Ana.
"Are you nuts? The bus will not be there for 30 minutes!" said Julian.
"Now Julian, don't be so mean to Ana. I think she is very excited about school, that is all." said Mrs. James.
"Yes I am, you dumb-head!" said Ana.
"Ana James!" said Mr James. "Have you forgotten your manners?"
Julian giggled.
"As for you sir, you stop calling people 'nuts' or you will be punished. Understood?"
Julian nodded. Deep down in his heart, he was also excited about school today.
Soon it was time to go to the school-bus. They got their backpacks and their lunch-boxes and went to the bus stop to wait for the bus. They saw Fred and Ella there - but didn't say anything. Fred and Ella wondered why they were so silent but they didn't say a thing.
When the bus came Julian and Ana sat in on seat with two places. Fred and Ella still wondered what was going on.
When they got to the school, Fred and Ella went to Julian and Ana, walked into the school and went to their classrooms.
In Julian's classroom there was a new teacher. When he turned around, Julian recognized him. It was Mr Andy who used to be their gym teacher. What was he doing? Was he going to be their new teacher? But then he saw a person that he did not know. Mr Andy clapped his hands for everybody to sit down.
"Children, your teacher, Miss Goons, has retired"
"Why?" asked a boy named Jimmy.
"Because she is too old to teach. Your new teacher will be Mr Jacoby."
Mr Jacoby turned around to face the children. He had brown hair, green eyes, very clean white teeth, and very neat nails.
"Good morning everybody" said Mr Jacoby. "Today to start we will do math drills"
"What kind?" asked Fred, Julian's best friend.
"Multiplication" said Mr Jacoby.
"Yes! I like multiplication!" said Fred.
"Me too" said Julian. Then whispered: "Can you come at free time - I want to talk to you about something".
"Okay Julian, I'll bring Ella." said Fred.
"Good, I will need her too. But I think Ana told her we will need to talk."
"But why do you want to talk to us?" asked Fred, scratching his head.
"I'll tell you at free time, okay? Come on, we'd better get on with this multiplication."
